It’s time for June’s Designer Showcase! I like to wrap up each month by having one of my fellow designers share a bit about themselves, and then I follow it up by sharing my 5 favorite free patterns that they’ve designed! We ended up skipping May this year – not enough days in the month! But I’ve brought it back for June so I can share some of the lovely designs from the talented Lauren Brown – blogger and designer behind Daisy Cottage Designs!
Lauren’s site and work are eye catching in both design and style! Here’s a bit more about her in her own words:
I’m Lauren, the girl behind the Daisy Cottage designs blog and Etsy shop. After graduating from college, I taught third grade until my husband and I had our first baby. After that baby girl fell in love with a blanket that my mother-in-law made for her, I decided I needed to learn how to make a “backup.”
Interestingly enough, I learned to crochet that year, but I never did make that blanket. I crocheted hats, flowers, and other wearables for my baby girl. When I’d post the pictures on my social media, friends would ask me to make hats for their kids; others encouraged me to start selling finished objects.
I started my Etsy shop in 2010 selling crocheted hats. As a way to promote my shop, I started the Daisy Cottage Designs blog shortly after. The blog turned into a place to share free crochet patterns, art projects for preschoolers, and other crafty posts. Since then, the Daisy Cottage Designs shop has gone from selling finished items to crochet patterns and digital invitations and prints.
I’m now the busy mom of three adorable little girls (6, 4, and 6 months). If I’m not homeschooling, chasing kiddos, or changing diapers, you’ll find me behind the computer working on graphic design & blogging or crocheting something bright and fun.
Busy lady!! Here are 5 of my favorite freebies from Daisy Cottage Designs:
