The 2025 Moogly CAL Schedule

All of these dates are Thursdays, 2 weeks apart. The exception is our last square, on November 26 - the day before American Thanksgiving! X Mix Square

Above you can see the square that Sandra made in 2 colors! Below is my CAL square, in my 5 colors of Red Heart With Love - Merlot, Mallard, Boysenberry, Cornsilk, and Black.
Details for MooglyCAL2025 Block 8
My Notes: This is the first square Sandra has designed for a MooglyCAL, and what a lovely debut! I was so pleased to receive her pattern and see how well written and easy to follow it is. This pattern is great for determined beginners, building on basic stitches and adding just a few "new" moves!
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Magic Circle, STSC - Join with sc, STDC - Join with dc, Waistcoat St, BLO - Back Loop Only and seamless join.
Sizing: After finishing Rnd 12, my square measured 10". So I worked Rnd 13 with dc instead of sc, and that got me to 12". But everyone's gauge is different, so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to ensure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down, not diagonally/corner to corner.
What I Did:
I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):
Rnd 1: Cornsilk
Rnd 2: Black
Rnd 3: Merlot
Rnd 4: Black
Rnd 5: Mallard
Rnd 6: Black
Rnd 7: Boysenberry
Rnds 8 and 9: Black
Rnds 10 and 11: Merlot
Rnd 12: Cornsilk
Rnd 13: Black
This square required a mild blocking, so I used the wet blocking method.
