Two classic tales get a new interpretation - in crochet! Crochet Stories: L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Crochet Stories: J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan have both been turned into amigurumi patterns and storybooks! Today I get to show off my own copies, and give away a set to one lucky Moogly reader, courtesy of Dover Publications!
Disclaimer: This giveaway was sponsored by Dover Publications, but all opinions are my own.
Crochet Stories: L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Pat Olski takes us through the tale of Dorothy and her new friends (and her little dog too!). After the Abbreviations and Notes page, we jump right into the story - and chapter by chapter, make the characters that appear!

As you follow the yellow brick road, you encounter 15 projects to make that illustrate the story. There are Dorothy and Toto, Aunt Em and Uncle Henry, and all their friends. There's even a pattern for the yellow brick road itself! Though they follow the original story rather than the movie, you'll find all your favorites - as well as the story itself!

The patterns in Crochet Stories: L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz are well written, with stitch counts and plenty of notes. There are no charts, but that's pretty standard for amigurumi style crochet. There are also no step by step assembly photos, but there are clear, well-photographed pictures of each project - and gauge doesn't matter! Wizardry indeed! See below for a coupon code to get your own copy - and to enter the giveaway!
Crochet Stories: J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan by Sarah Sloyer is set up the same way - as the story is told, we meet the characters and their patterns. The Abbreviations and Notes are particularly helpful for this one, as the patterns follow a more simplistic amigurumi style format.

Inside Crochet Stories: J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan you'll find 3 different "body base" patterns, followed by patterns for 13 cute characters, as well as the Lost Boys' Teepee and Tinker Bell's Lantern!

Crochet Stories: J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan patterns are written simply, but there are lots of clear photos too. Once again, gauge doesn't matter so you can make your characters in whatever size you like just by changing the yarn!
And as I mentioned above - I've got a great discount for you! Just CLICK HERE to save 25% on ALL Crochet and Knitting Books on Dover! They also have Crochet Stories books for Grimm's Fairy Tales, Alice in Wonderland, and the Nutcracker!
And be sure to enter the giveaway for both Crochet Stories: L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Crochet Stories: J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan below! One winner will receive both books, courtesy of (and mailed by) Dover Publications.
The Crochet Stories: L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, & Crochet Stories: J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan Giveaway on Moogly is open to USA and Canada addresses and ends 1/29/18 at 12:15 am Central US time.
