Dinosaur Amigurumi & Dumpling Cats Giveaway!

Published: Dec 4, 2017 by Tamara Kelly · 112 Comments

If you love making amigurumi and crocheted toys - or if you want to learn how - then you'll want to check out Dinosaur Amigurumi and Dumpling Cats, two fun new crochet books! Today I get to show off my own copies, and give away a set to one lucky Moogly reader, courtesy of Dover Publications!

Win both Dinosaur Amigurumi and Dumpling Cats books on Mooglyblog.com! Giveaway ends 12/18/17Disclaimer: This giveaway was sponsored by Dover Publications, but all opinions are my own.

Dinosaur Amigurmi by Justyna Kacprzak is a pure pattern book - it presumes you know how to crochet already, and dives right into the patterns!

Dinosaur Amigurumi - review on Mooglyblog.com!

There are 14 patterns in Dinosaur Amigurumi, each of which is written in a minimalistic style - for instance, the second row of the first pattern reads: "Rnd 2 inc 6 times (12sts)." So it's not absolute beginners, but if you know the basics of amigurumi they are very doable!

Dinosaur Amigurumi - review on Mooglyblog.com!

I actually really like the pattern writing style in Dinosaur Amigurumi - amigurumi uses such basic stitches, it makes sense to pare it back like this. But if you prefer a more intensive, step by step approach, then Dumpling Cats would be better to read first! (Luckily, I have a discount code for both - see below!)

Dumpling Cats by Sarah Sloyer is all about these super cute cats and animal amigurumi - each with their own little story! So cute!!

Dumpling Cats - review on Mooglyblog.com!

Inside Dumpling Cats you'll find 25 different cat patterns - plus 3 "bonus" accessories patterns!

Dumpling Cats - review on Mooglyblog.com!

Dumpling Cats patterns include more detailed instructions - including a stitch glossary and lots of step by step photos! While this book won't teach you to crochet either, it will teach you to crochet amigurumi! And then you can add some prehistoric pals with Dinosaur Amigurumi!

And as I mentioned above - I've got a great discount for you! Just CLICK HERE to save 25% on ALL Crochet and Knitting Books on Dover!

Get 25% off Crochet and Knitting Books from Dover!

And be sure to enter the giveaway for both Dinosaur Amigurumi and Dumpling Cats below! One winner will receive both books, courtesy of (and mailed by) Dover Publications.

The Dinosaur Amigurumi & Dumpling Cats Giveaway on Moogly is open to USA and Canada addresses and ends 12/18/17 at 12:15 am Central US time. If you are on mobile and have difficulty entering, please use a desktop computer to enter. Only the email and blog commenting options are mandatory – all other tasks are optional, for bonus entries only. Good luck, all!

I love dinosaur patterns. I attempted a vintage pattern for a long neck, but couldn't figure out how to put the pieces together. I couldn't find that had either. My nephew really likes them so maybe I'll attempt again.

I love Dover books, especially their paper dolls! I have every kind of book they make, from crafting books to DIY and recipes, to sticker and coloring books. We have found several old fashioned titles not available anywhere else to read to our son. Dover is one of my all time favorite publishing houses!

It seems like they have a wonderful variety of books. I have not used any before . This is the first time I have heard of Dover, but I think I may be making a purchase soon!

I love the Dumpling Cats! I'm a volunteer for a non-profit that cares for Feral and Community cats. We have lots of fund raisers to pay for food and vet services (spay and neutering). I'd love to make lots of these little guys to sell or auction to help make money for the kitties!

I love the Dumpling Cats book and any Amigurumi critters to knit or crochet. I've used Dover in the past for "cut and paste" images. I wasn't aware Dover carried crochet and knitting books too.

Dinosaurs and kitties will pretty much cover gifts for great-nephews and -nieces! I have used Dover sticker books and art books in craft projects before.

I have Wink's mandala book, but didn't realize it was from Dover. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Dover offers craft books. Their selection of yarny craft books is small. I would love to see more ami pattern books.

I've used Dover books, but not for amigurumi. The Creepy Crawly Crochet by Megan Kreiner, Dinosaur Amigurumi by: Justyna Kacprzak, and Crochet Stories: Grimms' Fairy Tales by: Brothers Grimm, Gloria Cavallaro, Vanessa Putt all
caught my eye...might have to ask my library if they'll consider adding one ofthem to their collection

I absolutely love the dinosaurs! I've tried to shape my own and have a dragon pattern I like, but these have a lot of flexibility.

I haven't tried any of the Dover books before. I really like the Dumpling cats but I wouldn't mind doing some Dinosaurs as both would be useful.

I'm not sure what I would like to see more (or less) of. There are a lot of books there that provide all sorts of ideas for me.
