Thank you Tamara for creating your lovely Whispering Arrow Shawl. It is a lovely pattern, & I love the look of the hidden chevrons & I’m excited about trying out a cake of the Red Heart it’s a Wrap Rainbow yarn for the first time, in another color that I will shop for. Can’t wait!

Hi, Tamara
I am currently working on this. When single crocheting along the top, do I single crochet into the chain made after the slip stitch? I am very pleased with how this has turned out. I did use a different yarn, lion brand tuboo. Thank you, for such a lovely free pattern.

Hi Deloris! If it's the ch 1 at the beginning of the row, then no - that's the turning chain. 🙂 Thank you!

No, I am talking about the chain one, after the slip stitch, on the first row of border, along the top, the chain, after the slip stitch to fill in from the squares. I single crocheted into this stitch but I think it is wrong. I pulled it out. After finishing the entire border, it was too wonky, almost ruffled, because of too many stitches. I looked for a stitch count, but you didn't provide one. I am going to try a single crochet on the single, 2 in the chain space, and then one on the double crochet, across.
Thanks, for such a quick response.

Hi, Tamara,
I just read my comment, and I am unsure if it is clear. I am working along the top edge of the shawl. I didn't do the arrow, I forgot, and once started, continued with the lace stitch throughout. So, I think I just single crochet in the single crochet, 2 in chain space and one single crochet in the double crochet, all along the top edge.
Sorry if I was unclear.
Thanks!
Deloris

I'm still a bit confused, but basically the idea is to work a straight line of sc across, evenly - so as long as it lays flat you're good! 🙂

😂, it is all good. I finished it, and it is drying. 💙
Thanks!
Deloris 😁
