Have you gotten a chance to check out The Loopy Lamb before? I was very lucky to get to meet Ashley this summer, as I've been admiring her designs for quite some time! And today, I get to share her with all of you in the Moogly Designer Showcase!
A Bit About the Designer
Ashley has been designing at The Loopy Lamb since 2018! Here's a bit more about her in her own words:
"Hi! I'm Ashley, the designer, blogger and crazy yarn lady behind The Loopy Lamb. I'm a mom of two young kids and we call Ontario, Canada home. I love to create a wide variety of different types of crochet projects but since my children (and their requests for toys) provide a lot of my inspiration, I tend to make a lot of amigurumi toys.
On my blog and YouTube channel, I share free crochet patterns and tutorials as well as yarn, book and product reviews for crocheters. I started my blog in 2018 after friends and family encouraged me to share my patterns with others. Honestly, hitting publish on that first post and free crochet pattern, my Arctic Gem Beanie, was terrifying and I almost didn't do it.
I have this personal motto: if something scares me or intimidates me, I'm going to do it or try it. Life is too short not to take risks or to let fear stop you from putting yourself out there. So I talked myself into hitting publish that day and it led to me eventually being able to leave my job to create full time. I started doing yarn, book and product reviews when makers were unable to get into stores to see products during the pandemic so that it could assist makers in making the best buying decisions possible for themselves.
I love designing amigurumi patterns with faux fur yarn. I was really intimidated to work with fur yarn at first because I really clung to this fear of not being able to see my stitches. But after pushing myself to try fur yarns, I fell in love with them. I have designed many free crochet patterns for the softest and most loveable crochet toys using fur yarn. Working with faux fur yarns can be simple when you follow these free tips and tricks that I share on my blog: Pro Tips & Tricks For Crocheting with Fur Yarn.
