Susan Bates Bamboo Handle Crochet Hooks are the aluminum Susan Bates you probably learned to crochet with - with a lovely smooth bamboo handle that covers everything below the thumb rest.
Like all Susan Bates, these are in-line hooks, and they are suited for both knife and pencil grips. The size is printed on the thumb rest, and they're color-coded by size too. They are available in nine sizes, from US-G, 4mm to US-N, 10mm!
My Experience:
I have been really enjoying trying all the variety of Susan Bates hooks - I didn't know about the Ergonomic ones until recently, and the Bamboo ones have been a revelation as well!
I tend to hold my hook in a pencil grip, switching the knife grip for certain stitches. And no matter how I'm stitching, the Bamboo handles feel great! I only have 3 sizes currently, but I look forward to collecting them all!
Larger handles like this cause the hand to open up and relax more. This lets you crochet for longer, with less discomfort. And some say it helps improve the evenness of your tension or gauge as well! Bamboo also stays cool to the touch - which is great in this hot summer weather!

Thank you for another great giveaway Tamara. I use Susan Bates hooks. I have to have the ergonomical grips because of my hands. I have purchased both kinds avaible after purchasing the set of regular SB hooks, and they serve their purpose for me to use the hooks for long periods of time.

I usually use a 5mm and up. Using thinner yarn hurts my hands after awhile so I try to avoid it. I only use Susan Bates hooks. I find that these hooks have a nice deep "cup" to catch the yarn and just the right point to the tip of the hook. It's made crocheting easier for me to crochet quicker!

I found it lol. My favorite hooks are Armor Tulip and my go to size is 5-5.5 mm. I'm expanding into larger projects that use the bigger hooks and this looks perfect. I love the hook on it and handles look very comfortable. Hope to try them soon.

I absolutely love these hooks. I started collecting them one at a time from Joanne Fabrics, then they discontinued them for the comfort grip hooks. Anyway I crochet kind of big so H or I hooks seem to be the ones I use the most. Also the bamboo handles do not get cold in the winter for those in northern climates 😀

Pencil hold crocheter here. While I love Susan Bates hooks for their inline shape and deeper throat area for catching the yarn, none of the Susan Bates handles work for me. I grasp the hook on the thumb rest area and S.B. handles are no where near where I hold. I wish S.B. made a line of hooks with the rubbery handles like Tulip Etimo and Clover Amour have that COVER THE THUMB REST AREA.. Those are the hooks I use most often. I have purchased the S.B. bamboo handles in several sizes already and they are useless for me.
