And a huge thank you this morning to Mary Kathryn of Crochet Chiq! She surprised me with this super fun guest post for Moogly and I'm so excited to share it with you - such a great (and timely!) topic! Be sure to visit Crochet Chiq after you read this - Mary Kathryn writes fab free patterns, some of which have even been published by Red Heart Yarns!
Instead of getting upset of little ones tangling your current project give them their own ball and help them with these awesome projects.
Finger knitting is fun for all ages, I taught my son to do this when he was 5 and as a craft store instructor I had children as young as 3 in my classes. This is ideal because it keeps their fingers busy and many children find it easier than trying to use a hook or needles, it also helps to develop the fine motor skills.
Here is the link to my step by step instructions. http:// chiqchildrenscrafts.blogspot. com/2012/07/finger-crochet- great-for-boys-and-girls.html

Pom Poms are also great fun! I found this great idea for making them Angry Birds themed ( or print out faces to anything) from Jaime of Craft interrupted. http://www. craftinterrupted.com/2012/11/ angry-birds-piggies-poms.html

Or you can head over to the Lion Brand website and make animal themed pom poms! http://www.lionbrand. com/patterns/L20083.html? noImages=

Over on Red Heart Website you can find these easy and cute yarn dolls! Call them monsters or minions for boys! http://www.redheart.com/ blog/make-your-own-yarn-doll- easy-enough-kids
Which projects do you think will interest your children the best?
