I will turn 80 this December and have been crocheting since my grandmother taught me,at age seven.As a retired nurse in have been trying to remain productive so two winters ago I crocheted a hundred beanies and last winter made 52. I moved to Wyoming after winter and socdar have crocheted a dozen lap Afghans and a dozen beanies to donate up here to those in need this coming winter. My goal is another hundred hats. I crochet with so many different yarn weights that my favorite hook depends entirely on what yarn I’m using for my current project. Recently, the projects I’ve been crocheting have used I, J, or K hooks. Right now, I’m crocheting a sweater with my J hook but after I finish this project, I’ll be starting another sweater that’ll likely use one of my E, F, or G hooks after I check my gauge.
