A Bit About the Designer

Edie Eckman is one of those designers and authors I was excited, nervous, and thrilled to meet when I became a crochet professional! She is one of the most knowledgeable crocheters I know, and I am so lucky to now be able to call her a friend.

Edie is the author of Connect the Shapes Crochet Motifs, Around the Corner Crochet Borders, Every Which Way Crochet Borders, The Crochet Answer Book, and Beyond-the-Square Crochet Motifs, as well as many other books and pattern leaflets - see them all here!

Here's a bit about Edie in her own words:

Hi! I’m Edie Eckman! I create happy, confident crocheters and knitters! I do this by writing books, designing patterns, teaching virtual classes, and providing tutorials and online resources. I help crafters understand the “why” of techniques—not just the “how”. My goal is to empower everyone to problem-solve and think for themselves, to gain the skills to take on any knitting or crocheting challenge.

I also tech edit and teach classes for designers and teachers, to help everyone improve their professional skills so THEY can create help create confident crafters. Because confident crafters are happy crafters!
