A Bit About the Designer

If you remember Hookin' On Hump Day or The Loop Scoop here on Moogly, then you have probably spotted Michelle's designs - they were featured dozens of times! So I'm excited to learn more about her and share her work in this Designer Showcase!

Here's a bit about Michelle in her own words:

Michelle, aka Dora, established Dora Does in 2017 to share her patterns and record her journey as a crochet designer. The Dora Does blog explores all things crochet, from the fundamentals to the foundations of design. It aims to serve as a resource for adventurous beginners to freestylers and budding designers.

Based from her home in Cambridge, UK, she designs practical, modern crochet garments and accessories, and contemporary homeware patterns. All with a hint of playfulness and joy.

Michelle loves to experiment with different construction methods, sharing her exploration of different design styles, textures, and drape. As an internet-taught crocheter, she is able to approach crochet without traditional preconceptions. Her mission is to dispel the myth that only advanced crocheters can make their own wardrobe.

Crochet wearables are for everyone who wants to try them; Michelle wants to help makers build the confidence to start, and continue on that journey, all the while emphasizing the benefits crochet can have on one’s well-being and personal growth.

She firmly believes we are all works in progress.
