Dora Ohrenstein is the author of many crochet books, including Top-Down Crochet Sweaters: Fabulous Patterns with Perfect Fit, Custom Crocheted Sweaters: Make Garments that Really Fit, and The Crocheter's Skill-Building Workshop: Essential Techniques for Becoming a More Versatile, Adventurous Crocheter. So a stitch dictionary is an amazing addition!
Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary includes 125 stitch patterns. While this isn't the biggest number of stitch patterns to be found in a crochet stitch dictionary, the entries in this one have some very special features that really set them apart!
Each entry in Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary includes color photos of the swatches, as well as the written instructions and charts. And then it steps it up by adding both the stitch and row repeats and any helpful notes.
And that would be amazing enough... but this book goes to the next level by including both written and charted instructions for increases and decreasing each pattern. Both Edge Shaping and Internal Shaping are included - wow wow wow!
This is a huge thing if you do any designing of your own, and takes a *lot* of the work out of creating interesting patterns. I can't wait to use this book to design new patterns for all of you!
Most of the swatches are made in one solid color, and the book includes closed stitch patterns as well as mesh and lace, shells, textured stitches, and ripple stitches. I will say the print is on the small side - but there's so much packed in here it's a crochet treasure!
Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary is a great resource as well as an inspiration for any crocheter! You can buy it on Amazon US, and most likely through your local bookstore. And you can win a copy in the giveaway below!

Then you may want to look for something written in UK abbreviations - or learn to read charts, which is super fun because then you can make a lot of Japanese and Russian patterns too! 🙂

For giveaways it's up to the company doing the shipping, and this publisher has limited it to USA and Canada. Generally, it's due to the costs - shipping a book can easily cost 2-3 times the cover price to ship overseas from the US.
