The Bernat Crochet Big Mossy Corner Throw was inspired by two popular stitch patterns. Or perhaps I should say one stitch pattern plus one technique? The crochet moss stitch goes by many names - I first learned it as the granite stitch, but linen stitch and woven stitch are popular too. It's usually worked in simple rows, and sometimes in the round - check out the Autumn Amore set for some great examples. But it can also be worked corner to corner - which makes it a little more exciting!

This throw is designed to measure approximately 44" square, using a US-50, 25mm crochet hook. I used 7- Jumbo Bernat Blanket Big to make it, but you could also use Bernat Blanket Extra Thick - whichever has the colors you prefer best! While I used a pretty variegated throughout, you can go with solids, or even create some fun stripes! If you'd like to use the standard 6 - Super Chunky Bernat Blanket instead, just use a US-L, 8mm crochet hook and keep increasing until you have the desired size.
