A couple years ago, I had bought my new shoes for ballet and I came up with an idea to design a pattern for Crochet Ballet Slippers for Country Woman Magazine. And now I get to share it here on Moogly!
This pattern debuted in the December/January 2015 issue of Country Woman, and it was such a thrill to see my first “published” pattern! It was also shared free on their website, which was just extra fantastic. Alas, since then, they have remodeled the site and the pattern can no longer be found.
Which led to lots of emails! Turns out, it was quite the go-to pattern for some crocheters, especially for the holidays. So I wrote to Country Woman and got their permission to share it with you all here! Thank you Country Woman!
This pattern is available in a ready to print PDF: just CLICK HERE for the Crochet Ballet Slippers Pattern! This will open it up in your computer’s PDF reader, and you can make it right from the screen, or print it for personal use. I am so glad this pattern gets a second life. Enjoy! And don’t forget to add it to your Ravelry Queue and Favorites!
And a couple of tips! I like the bow tied on the ankles – try it both ways and see which one you like best! Additionally, the original yarn is lovely, but a bit high maintenance. Try Lion Brand’s Pound of Love, or 24/7 Cotton for an easy care alternative for gifts!

Just downloaded the pattern, can’t wait to make a couple of pair for myself! I have some worsted weight yarn in my stash that will be perfect for these. I like to wear this type of slipper to bed, as my feet get cold if I kick off my blankets during the night! Thanks for sharing your great patterns.

Thank you Jenny!

Thank you for sharing this pattern. The slippers look fantastic and achievable for a beginner like me. Sorry if this has been asked before but does the patter use U.K. Or USA terms?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Jade! My patterns are in US terms. 🙂 Thank you!
Jade
Thanks so much for your quick reply 😊

Hi i am going to make these slippers for a young girl who is on dialysis and she wears a size 12 shoe. I see the pattern only goes to a size 9. Can u tell me what to do to increase the size. Bigger needle or maybe more stitches?
Thnk u so much for this.

Hi Trudy! I would try it with a Bulky weight yarn and a J hook. ♥
