A Bit About the Designer
I've "known" Courtney online for years, and we finally met in person it felt like it had happened years ago! Her designs are colorful, approachable, and as clever as she is! Here's a bit about Courtney in her own words:
Creations by Courtney is the go-to destination for crocheters looking to create a stylish, handmade wardrobe. Founded by Courtney, a designer who first tried crochet at age eight learning from her mother. After rediscovering crochet during college and graduate school, she officially launched her design journey in January 2017. Courtney's passion for creating stylish, functional garments has grown since then to include participation in multiple fashion shows and being featured in national and international crochet publications.
With a focus on seamless or mostly seamless designs, Courtney is dedicated to offering crochet patterns that help makers curate their own custom wardrobe, from tops and cardigans to chic accessories. Creations by Courtney patterns are size inclusive, as she believes all body’s deserve to look good with items from their handmade closet. One can even find customization options to fit their unique body within the garment patterns for a truly personal fit.
Finding inspiration on the runway and within nature, one can find fun combinations of stitches and textures aimed at gently pushing crocheters out of their stitching comfort zones. Many say that they learn new things when following a Creations by Courtney pattern, and often feeling more confident in their crochet skills.
Besides creating fashion forward crochet wearables and being a crochet educator, Courtney is a wife, mom to a son and twin girls, and full-time psychologist in her own virtual practice near Atlanta, GA. She enjoys spending time with her parents, siblings and nephews, in addition to gathering anywhere and all over with her fiber friends.
