Jody Long has written two fantastic knitting pattern books – and today I get to show off my own copies, and give away a set to one lucky Moogly reader, courtesy of Dover Publications!
Disclaimer: This giveaway was sponsored by Dover Publications, but all opinions are my own.
Contemporary Cables and Adorable Baby Knits make the perfect pair of books for knitters – something for yourself, and something for baby! Okay, a lot of things – because both books are full of gorgeous patterns you’ll want to knit! First, let’s take a look at Contemporary Cables.
Contemporary Cables features 21 patterns for cabled sweaters and accessories. These are intermediate to advanced designs, from sweaters to handbags – and they are all stunning.
The things I love about Contemporary Cables, in addition to the gorgeous designs, is that it includes lots of information – written instructions, charts, and all the measurements and details needed to make the perfect piece. A variety of yarn weights are used, and the designs cover a great variety of styles and shapes to compliment different figures.
Contemporary Cables is a great book to have on hand if you love cables, knitting for yourself, and challenging designs! And I’ve got a discount code below for you to order with!
Adorable Baby Knits, on the other hand, is all about knitting for others (unless you know a baby who can knit, in which case, call me!).
Inside this book, you’ll find 25 super cute designs, on some of the world’s most adorable models. There are sweaters, blankets, banners, hats, and booties – and most of the sized patterns go all the way from 0-3 months up to 12-18 months!
Like Contemporary Cables, Adorable Baby Knits includes lots of sizing info, and charts and schematics when appropriate. A good variety of yarns are represented too!
I love the variety of patterns available in Adorable Baby Knits – the coats might be my favorite, but it’s so hard to choose! And you don’t have to choose if you have the book… And I mentioned there’s a discount, yes? CLICK HERE to use it today!
And be sure to enter the giveaway for both books below – they make great gifts for the holidays! One winner will receive both books, courtesy of (and mailed by) Dover Publications.

So cool how the cables are split on the hem of the pink sweater. Love it!
Michele
I love these cabled sweaters.

I haven’t used Dover books yet – but would love to start 🙂 I just visited their site and they have something for everyone! I would have a hard time choosing where to start, however I think the two books reviewed on Moogly would be an amazing starting point. I could make a sweater for me to wear when I take out my grandbaby who would be wearing something I made.
Irene
I just checked out the Dover facebook page – my granddaughter and I could spend some happy hours doing crafts, especially the rock painting. So many ideas, so little time!

I have not used Dover books yet.
I thought maybe the Creepy Crawly Crochet book, but then I saw some of the creatures and thought not.
Maybe Dumpling Cats, or Grimm’s Fairy Tales?
I always did love those stories.
Kitten With A Whiplash
Once again I indulge in the age old whine of the crafty guys. More patterns for us men, okay? I just got the Crochet Oz book, and it is wonderful. The Fantastical Dragons coloring book looks like a must-have..
Just to let you know, right now I can see the Name and Email boxes below are prefilled with Michelle B and also her email address – don’t worry Michelle, it’s safe with me. After I leave this comment I’m going to leave one as anonymous with a bogus email address so that I can protect my privacy. Sorry to have to do this..
Anita
