Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool Review and Giveaway

Published: Aug 3, 2020 by Tamara Kelly · 2 Comments

The Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool is an easy to use, adjustable punch needle for use with embroidery floss or thread! See how it works, and enter to win your own on Moogly!

    Punch Needle with Floss

The Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool is basically a really small punch needle - it works just like it does with yarn! The 3 ply needle is included with the handle, which is perfect for 3 strands of embroidery floss. (Embroidery floss is 6 strands thick - you separate this in half to use for this needle size.)

With the Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool, you can create more delicate, finer lines than you can with yarn. And you need a correspondingly densely woven fabric to work into. But you can still create all sizes of stitches!

How the Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool Works

In the Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool package, you get the tool itself (the handle), the 3 ply needle refill (with a lid), and a needle threader. You can purchase other size needle refills separately - both larger and smaller - and they all work in the same handle!

The depth at which you load the needle into the handle determines the size of the loops you make. The Stitching Tool is cleverly designed to let you open the handle, insert the needle, get it lined up the right way, and tighten the handle again - all with just two hands.

Once the needle in there, I do recommend giving the handle an extra bit of tightening. If it's not tight enough, the needle will move as you use it. Then, you insert the needle threader straight through the tool, starting at the needle end. Pull the floss through, then use the threader once more to pull the floss through the hole at the end of the needle. And you're ready to start crafting!

When you use the Stitching Tool, I also recommend resting the stopper (the bump in the handle), right against the side of your finger. This will help you keep the needle pointed in the right direction, and is pretty comfortable too!

Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool - Review and Giveaway on Moogly - how to hold

I got started on this cute gnome design, which I created using my Cricut Maker (click here to see how!) and the graphic included in Cricut Access (#M15034F55). I used Cricut fabric for the backing - it's 100% cotton, and densely woven, but probably a little lightweight for this project.

Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool - how to use the Cricut Maker for any design!

Using the Clover Embroidery Stitching Tool takes a little bit of practice, but I really loved how this started coming together! And look at the fun little loops in the mustache! It was a fun, and relaxing way to spend an evening.

I really enjoyed getting a chance to try this fun tool - and I can't wait to create all sorts of gifts with it - like handmade ornaments!

What a super idea! I used to embroider in "my youth" - and that's like a million years ago! LOL. This looks like an ideal way to make beautiful works of art. Would love to have one. Thank you for the opportunity to possibly win one.

I would love to win this, I'm not good at embroidery, this would help tremendously.
