    Bright Chevron Dishcloth Tutorial

    Published: May 11, 2016 · Modified: Jan 17, 2022 by Tamara Kelly · 18 Comments

The Bright Chevron Dishcloth pattern here on Moogly is quite unique - so I've created a video tutorial to help! Here's how to crochet the Bright Chevron Dishcloth!

Learn how to crochet the Bright Chevron Dishcloth pattern - free on Mooglyblog, com!Disclaimer: This post includes affiliate links.

How to Crochet the Bright Chevron Dishcloth (Right Handed)

How to Crochet the Bright Chevron Dishcloth (Left Handed)

In feedback about the pattern, the part that seemed to confuse people the most was Row 3. This row has a couple of unique features - tr sts (treble stitches), and a tr2tog (a treble stitch decrease). But the part that makes the chevron pattern is where the "legs" of the tr and tr2tog sts are worked - into the sts that were skipped 2 rows before!

One helpful rule of thumb for the odd numbered rows is that tr and tr2tog sts are only worked into the yarn that is the same color as the yarn you are using, whereas sc sts are worked into the other color of yarn.

On the even numbered rows, it's simply dc sts across - just be sure to work into the ch-1 sps, not the ch sts, and not the skipped st below the ch-1!

I hope this tutorial, in combination with the written pattern, answers your questions. If you have further questions about this pattern, please let me know in the comments!

Thank you ,I'm going to make these ...I am a lefty and love that you show both right and left handed tutorials. I wonder though way don't you pull your yarn from the centre of the ball ? That way the ball just sits and feeds the yarn ...no pulling

Hi Roberta! Thank you, I'm so glad you like them!
Not all balls are wound to be best pulled from the center, and pulling from these tends to add a lot of extra rubbing and stress to the yarn, in addition to encouraging tangles. So I find it's most often best to pull from the outside, unless I've wound the yarn into a cake.

If we want to use the stitch for a blanket, what multiple would we use for our starting chain?

Hi Donna! Any multiple of 4 should work. 🙂
