I live in an unheated apartment, in a 15 x 30 foot room with 11 foot ceilings. During the winter the temp stays at about 55on cloudy days, and 59 if I can get some sun. But right now our building is being painted, and the covered scaffolding blocks all the windows, which are covered in plastic anyway. Space heaters are no good, all the heat just goes to the ceiling! So I'd make myself a warm, soft sweater to sleep in, and eat in, and sit and knit in, and if I could, I'd even wear it in the shower! Sorry for the long story, but, gee it felt good to get that off my chest!

You can't go wrong with a blanket... but I think I would make my cat a pet bed, so he can stay warm at night. I would crochet a solid granny square, make another of the same size, and stitch them together. Make it big enough so Gizmo cat can curl up or stretch out and stay warm.

a thick pet bed for my Gizmo cat. He gets cold, likes to snuggle up on my legs at night. A big enough blanket for him would make my nights sleep better.
