More Colorways, More Patterns
There are 21 colorways currently available – they’ve added several new ones over the past year, and retired a couple of others.
About half are solids, while the others have some color variation – and they’re all gorgeous!
And They’re Ready with Patterns!
There are now over 20 free crochet and knit patterns featuring Bernat Blanket Extra Thick on Yarnspirations.com! But I’m going to let you in on a secret – you can also use it in place of Bernat Blanket Big (sold exclusively at Michaels). So any pattern that calls for one… you can use the other! And Bernat Blanket Extra Thick’s skeins are about twice the yardage as Big!
I’ve designed a few patterns now using Bernat Blanket Extra Thick and Big – the Cushy Cube Storage Bin, and both Chunky Crochet Pumpkins. And I have demonstrated how to use it to hand crochet, and how to table knit with it!

I don’t use this ‘big’ stuff often, but I do have a ball waiting for it’s project. I even had my hubby make me some size 50 double pointed needles out of wooden dowels. I just need to wax them or something to make them usable. A couple more balls will make my decision of what to make easier. I was thinking a cat bed or something. I’d love to win this one!!!
