How to Use Babé Crochet Hat Templates
I've been using Babé Crochet hat templates for several years now, every time I design a top-down hat! While they are "crochet" templates they work for knitting too - the method may change, but head sizes are the same. Here's how they work:
Babé Crochet is a small woman-owned company, founded by Isabelle Mounet. She shares how these templates began on her site:
"As most crocheters will have experienced, hats were very much a frustrating “hit and miss” for me. When it came to executing and sizing hats accurately I struggled to get the right fit and look. Out of sheer frustration--and lots of brainstorming, trial, error, and work--I created a set for myself. I then realised that so many other crocheters shared my frustration and I wanted to share my idea with all of them. So I decided to launch them as an official product. With my client’s feedback, I'm always thinking of ways to improve them so that they can meet crocheters' expectations."
*All* the sizes - and I do mean all!
The full set of Babé Crochet Hat Templates includes sizes for tiny Preemies less than 2 lbs all the way up to XL adults! And there's a handy card to help you know which template to use. You can also purchase individual sizes, or kids and adults sets if you like to make certain sizes of hats - create a custom set for your family!

Would love to win , last time I made a hat it was way to big!
Nancy
Good evening. On your twisted single crochet do you chain and turn for the next row? If do how many ? Thank you
Tamara Kelly
Hi Nancy! The Twisted Single Crochet is meant to be used as a last row - an edging or border. You could work it in just the front loop though as an accent before continuing the piece in the back loop! Or am I overthinking the question?
Cynthia
I love making hats and well all kinds of yarn projects, but I do have trouble with hats either to small or to big,

I usually make adult-sized hats. These would be great for making sure I don't make any more that might fit Paul Bunyan. 😁
