Something spooky this way comes… spooky good crochet that is: it’s time for October 2016’s Designer Showcase! I like to wrap up most months by having one of my fellow designers share a bit about themselves, and then I follow it up by sharing my 5 favorite free patterns that they’ve designed! This month I get to share just a few of the gorgeous designs from the delightful Jennifer Pionk – blogger and designer behind A Crocheted Simplicity!
Jennifer is an amazing, award winning designer, and I’m so happy I get to feature her here today! Here’s a bit more about her in her own words:
Hi, I’m Jennifer and I’m the designer behind A Crocheted Simplicity, a line of fun, functional and modern crochet designs. I live in the middle of the woods, along a river in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with my husband and our 3 kids. We also have a grown daughter, son-in-law and 3 adorable grand babies.
I do not have a warm, fuzzy story to share with you about how my grandmother taught me to crochet at the young age of 5. As a matter of fact, just 5 short years ago I had absolutely no idea what the difference was between a crochet hook or knitting needles.
Shortly after relocating to the U.P. I found myself needing something to keep my mind off of missing the family we moved so far away from. That’s when I decided to teach myself to crochet… I bought a teach yourself to crochet kit and a ball of cotton yarn and haven’t looked back since!
I enjoy several different creative hobbies, such as sewing and stained glass, but crochet is where my heart is. I love continuously exploring new techniques and putting my own spin on the classics, but most of all, I love sharing my passion for crochet and teaching others.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer in person in July, and she is was fun, friendly, and so so talented! It was an honor to announce her winning design during the CGOA Fashion Show! Here are 5 of my favorite crochet pattern freebies from Jennifer and A Crocheted Simplicity!
