Yarn Canada Yarn for a Good Cause Giveaway!

Published: Dec 16, 2019 by Tamara Kelly · 7 Comments

Yarn Canada is hosting a different sort of giveaway this month - they are giving away thousands of dollars worth of Patons and Bernat yarn to those who crochet and knit for charity causes! Read on for details!

Yarn Canada Charity Yarn Giveaway 2019

So this giveaway is NOT hosted here on Moogly - but I wanted to share it because it's awesome!

    The Yarn Canada Giveaway Details:

They have partnered with Bernat Yarn and Patons Yarn to give 12 individuals and groups a total of $2000 worth of yarn to use towards their good works!

This giveaway is open to US and Canada addresses! Here’s the yarn they will be giving away:

1 x $500 of yarn to a Canadian group who knits or crochets for a good cause

1 x $500 of yarn to an American group who knits or crochets for a good cause

10 x $100 of yarn to Canadian or American individuals or groups who knit or crochet for a good cause

The yarn awards include free shipping to the US and Canada excluding remote areas. YarnCanada.ca will pre-select the yarn for each prize. However, they will take feedback on your specific needs (so include that if your charity uses something specific)!

The yarn will be awarded at the sole discretion of YarnCanada.ca. Their aim will be to give to a variety of causes, people, and locations.

The deadline to apply is Dec 31st, 2019, and they will select the recipients of the yarn by January 20th.

As you can see - it's a little different. It doesn't depend on luck as much as what you plan to do with it!

    How to Enter:

All you need to do to apply is to fill out the form on Yarn Canada and tell them your story. Be sure to include what will you use the yarn for, what impact has this or previous projects had, and anything else important to your story! And photos help too!

CLICK HERE TO FILL OUT THE FORM AND ENTER ON YARN CANADA!

What a wonderful event - good luck all! And thank you so much for crocheting and knitting for charity, and sharing your time and talent. ♥ (And if you need pattern ideas, remember that all Moogly Free Patterns are available for making for your favorite charity cause!)

    GOOD LUCK ALL!

I have been making blankets for Project Linus to distribute to sick and traumatized children for several years. We go through tons of yarn. Any amount would be wonderful. Thank you

Omg..Thank you for the opportunity to enter this generous giveaway ❤ I started crocheting 3 1/2 years ago when i found out i was gonna be a grandma for the first time 😍 My very first project was a cute little pair of ugg booties! I was so happy with the way they turned out..i made a ton (56) of baby booties ranging from preemie to newborn sizes to give to all the new babies at my local mother/baby unit! I loved how doing such a small gesture made me feel. I have made countless blankets..star blanket/hat & booties for peoples fundraisers..i never once turned down the people asking..because it makes me so happy and my heart is full. I am currently making hats & headbands in all sizes to donate to my local.homeless shelter. I have 18 hats and 8 headbands each and everyone one of them were made with love when ❤ im still making more my deadline will be friday dec 20th 2019! I will be washing them and they will be delivered and given to whoever needs them. I live in Canada and our winters are freezing -40 c with the wind. I plan on making a ton more after Christmas because i want them to beable to give them out as people need them. To be honest im so grateful for the ability to crochet and give to people in need. Whether its for a findraiser or just because they deserve something good!! I feel it is my duty to share the love of crocheting. Because if it was me or one of my loved ones id hope someone would be there to lend me a hand!! God Bless all of you who make and donate to people in need 🥰 good luck everyone 🍀🧶

I use both brands of yarn. I make baby hats for new borns and donate them to our local hospital.
I also crochet knitted knockers for our local group that makes breast prosthetics for Knitted Knockers.org.
