What Are Izzy Crochet Hat Templates?
The Izzy Crochet Hat Templates are a set of tools designed to help you size crochet (and knit!) hats accurately and efficiently. These templates were created by a crocheter who wanted to speed up the hat-making process without sacrificing quality or sizing precision.
Each set includes multiple sizes from newborn to adult large, so you can create hats for anyone and everyone! Just hold your project up to the template as you go to check sizing - no measuring tape required, and no second-guessing.

They’re perfect for:
- Designers writing or testing patterns
- Makers selling at craft fairs or online
- Crocheters making hats to donate
- Anyone tired of frogging and resizing
Simply put, they make beanie-making fast, fun, and foolproof—so you can spend less time measuring, and more time stitching.
How To Use the Izzy Crochet Hat Templates
Just grab the babé crochet hat template for the size you want to make and you'll get the right fit, every time, no math needed! Work a flat circle in the stitch pattern of your choice, until the curve matches the curve at the top of the template.

Then, work evenly until you've matched the length of the template. Prefer a slouchy beanie or folded brim? Work a little longer!

Why You'll Love Using These Templates
We’ve all been there: you follow a pattern, check your gauge, and then… the hat comes out too small, or too tall, or it just doesn’t fit right. You can try blocking it or shrinking it in the dryer, or just accept defeat, frog it, and move on. But what if you didn’t have to?
The Izzy Templates give you real-time feedback as you crochet, helping you catch sizing issues before it’s too late. Plus, they’re sturdy, long-lasting, and incredibly easy to use.
Here are just a few ways they make your crochet life easier:
- Speed up the process: Less measuring = more momentum
- Design with confidence: Perfect for pattern designers needing consistent results
- Reduce waste: No more frogging halfway through
- Make customizations easier: Check your own tweaks and adjustments as you go
Think of them like a trusty ruler, tape measure, and fit model all in one, customized specifically for hats. No matter the season, you'll be glad to have these on hand. One set will last a lifetime - and make a lifetime supply of hats that fit!

Hmmmm. I am a little skeptical. Whose size large did they use for a template? I got burned by a hat pattern before and it showed an adult on the front cover but when the hat was finished it did not fit at all. It was a size more for a young child. Took the time to make gauge beforehand too.
