There are lots of options out there for washing and blocking your crochet and knit items, but my personal favorite is Unicorn. Not just because they are super nice people, and not just because of the incredibly nice thing they did for Jessie At Home, but because they are the best products I've ever tried!
Previously here on Moogly, I put the Fibre Wash and Fibre Rinse to the test - and was very pleased with the results! So much dirt and grime came out (ew!) but it looked good as new afterward.
But I don't just pull out the Unicorn products for big washing days - I use the Fibre Rinse every time I block! I put a little squirt of it in the spray bottle of water I use to spray the MooglyCAL squares with once they are on my blocking board.
Indeed, I use it every time I block anything! Recently, I made the free Pixie Shawlette, and while it didn't really need a lot of blocking or shaping, I wanted to show it at it's very best. So I used some Unicorn Fibre Rinse in a bowl mixed with water and got it good and soaked.
Then I gently pressed the shawl in a towel and laid it flat to dry. Easy peasy, but it made it drape and lay beautifully - and smell good too! And no rinsing needed!
