    • Caron Tea Cakes yarn - this yarn has sold out since I posted! Here are the details of this yarn, so that you can find something comparable: 6-Super Bulky; 80% acrylic / 20% wool; 204 yds; 240 g, self-striping.
If you need to use a thinner yarn, you can add more chains to the beginning of the blanket to make up for the width, and add more rows for length.

Is there a comparable yarn to use since this is sold out?

Finding a 6-Super Bulky that is self-striping is tricky, so if you need to use a thinner yarn, you can add more chains to the beginning of the blanket to make up for the width, and add more rows for length. I don't have a "perfect" substitute I'm afraid.

Haven't started making this yet, just wanted to say that I love how this blanket looks so much! Can't wait to make it once I find an appropriate yarn to use

I can’t find where it tells you what to do with row 20. It doesn’t seem to mention it at the end. It says to continue 2-19 until 60”, then work hdc up the sides to finish it off.

Hi Colleen! Row 20 is just a repeat of Row 2 - so you end on a Row 19 repeat. 🙂

I love the pattern but didn’t want to use the bulky yarn. After studying the pattern I found that I could chain a multiple of 4 plus 3 and use worsted weight yarn and a H size hook. I am using up my scraps of yarn and changing yarn color every row giving it a look of variegated yarn.

I just finished it all in one color. I love it. I was working on it at crochet group. We meet in a 55 and older facility. One of the residents kept coming in and admiring it. She’ll have a nice surprise this week.
Thanks for the beautiful and easy to understand directions. It looks much more complicated than it is.
