The Popcorn Stitch is an easy way to add tons of texture to your crochet projects. It looks a whole lot like a Bobble Stitch, but with two major differences. The first is that the Popcorn Stitch is worked from the right side of the fabric, popping out towards you, whereas the Bobble Stitch is worked from the wrong side, popping out away from you. The other difference is in the actual construction – although both stitches are based on the dc (double crochet), when making the Popcorn Stitch you complete each dc, rather than working a dc5tog (as for a Bobble). And that’s all there is to it! I always think of the Popcorn Stitch as little cups or pockets. Between this stitch and the Bobble, you’ll always be able to add that POP, no matter which side of the fabric you’re on!
