Supersize Crochet was written by Sarah Shrimpton, who you might know from her fantastic crochet blog, Annaboo's House! If you've been following her project there, then you know that this book is full of bright, bold, and fun patterns!
Sarah writes her patterns in UK terms, but that's not a hard translation to keep in mind. I made the Contemporary Wall Hanging, complete with a stick from my backyard! Here's the photo from the book:
And here's mine! I used 2 hanks Lion Brand WOW! with a few yards of Kitchen Cotton to tie it on, and a 19mm hook - the biggest I own!
It was a lot of fun - that's the thickest yarn I've ever crocheted with! And that's a big part of the fun of the patterns in Supersize Crochet. All of these patterns work with Super Bulky or thicker yarn - including t-shirt yarn you make yourself (instructions included in the book)!
Most of these patterns are perfect for nearly-instant gratification - but even a blanket works up super fast with a Q hook!
