The Craft Yarn Council helps us Stitch Away Stress every April! And this year they're back to help you make lemonade out of lemons - really really big lemons!
April is stress awareness month... What stress? Are you stressed? No? Then this isn't for you. But for the rest of us - hoooo boy. It just doesn't stop, does it? But crocheting and knitting *does* help!
In fact, here are some stats for you, courtesy of the Craft Yarn Council!
93% of knitters and crocheters report that crafts give them a feeling of accomplishment.
85% of people who knit or crochet experience stress reduction.
68% of people claim that their mood improves after they knit or crochet.
So, the Craft Yarn Council (CYC) will once again host its annual #StitchAwayStress campaign to encourage knitters and crocheters and non-crafters alike to pick up a hook or pair of needles and stitch their stress away! This year they are going BIG...
Now say hello to the lemon pillow! This new and improved lemon is bigger and more squeezable than ever. It's a pillow for making, hugging, squeezing, sitting, and maybe attacking a few of those stressors with (the CYC does not encourage pillow fighting. I might though...).
The wonderful and talented Twinkie Chan created the lemon pillow pattern this year, a bigger than life follow up to her “When Life Gives You Lemons” lemon stress ball from years’ past! And there's more! Throughout the month, the CYC will host “Pillow Talk” on it social platforms, sharing quotes and interviews from different people about how knit and crochet have helped them overcome stress and health problems.
