    Spike Cluster Stitch

    Published: May 2, 2012 · Modified: Jun 18, 2018 by Tamara Kelly · 2 Comments

The Spike Cluster Stitch, or SPC, is featured in the Blue Agave Phone Pouch pattern. It's a purely decorative stitch, fun to make but hard to describe in text. So what to do? Make a video!

I hope this makes things clearer! It's one of those stitches that you kind of have to dive into - intimidating at first, but once you've made a half dozen you'll see just how simple they are. Here's a static pic with the stitches labeled in the order the loops are made:

You can use this stitch in blankets, cozies, garments - anything you want. Work from the top down, as in the Blue Agave Phone Pouch pattern, and you get an upright plant-like look. Work from the bottom up and you'll get something a little different. Have fun and enjoy! More videos to come soon!
