It's the end of the school year, and this week I'm stocking up on supplies to finish teacher gifts! What are you working on? If you need to buy yarn, be sure to use this roundup of the weekly deals and coupons at the craft stores to save money and time while you're at it!
Many of these sales only last through the weekend, so be sure to click on the name of the store for current prices if you’re shopping next week! Make sure too that you know your craft store policies – many take competitor’s coupons, and this can really pay off! Please note that the JoAnn and Craftsy links in this article are affiliate links - but that doesn't change your prices at all!
Save money on yarn this week at…
On the site, enter your zip code to get the coupons for the store closest to you. This week I got a coupon for 40% off any one regularly priced item, as well as a coupon for 15% off the entire purchase including sale items! Be sure to check your receipts – there are usually coupons printed at the bottom. Michaels has a mobile app with available coupons as well, so be sure to download that if you can. Sign up for the email newsletter, and Like Michaels on Facebook for more coupon opportunities.
There aren't any sales on yarn listed on the website, but keep your eyes peeled for any remaining clearance items left from last week!
On the back of the current flyer there is a coupon for 40% off as well as a fun scratch off coupon, for up to 60% off any regular priced item (in store only!), both good through May 18. In the newest flyer there is another 40% off coupon good through June 8th. There are also usually flyers inside the front door of the store, so always check the basket on your way in.
To get another Jo-Ann coupon, click the logo above, and at the bottom of the page under Shop, click on Store locator. Enter your zip code (if it doesn’t already show your nearest store). When you get the results, click on “More Store Information” and a link to a coupon will pop up. On the website there are more coupons, but they change quickly so check there before you shop. Be sure to sign up for the emails, their mailing list, text alerts, get the app, and Like Jo-Ann Fabrics on Facebook for even more deals.

Craftsy offers some great online crochet and knitting classes. And they're now offering FREE Mini-Courses, which you can check out by clicking here. I plan on taking Know Your Wool and Short Rows, and that Zipper class looks interesting too! Lots of quilters and sewers too!

The most popular ones on sale this week include Cascade Cherub Aran, Cascade Cash Vero Aran, Debbie Macomber Cashmere Fleur De Lys, Cascade 220 Quatro, and Cascade Venezia Worsted. And be sure to check out the Artyarns Mohair Splash - wow! This is a great way to try those yarns you could normally only get at a local yarn store or grab a great deal on an old favorite.

This week's coupon is for 50% any one regular priced item. They offer a Rewards Card, where you can earn money on every dollar spent, and this week there's an additional coupon for 500 bonus points when you spend $25!

Shopping online? Another great alternative to the above is Smiley’s Yarns, as well as Knitpicks, and WEBS. I've also heard lots of good buzz lately about Deramores, and they have both US and UK sites, with very reasonable shipping rates! Additionally, many manufacturers, such as Lion Brand, take orders directly. And they often run sales - sign up for their emails to keep up. And if you get the chance, don't forget to shop at your local yarn stores - small businesses need our support too!

HI Tamara, I just love all your patterns! I have a quick question for you. If I make the projects that you have patterns for would you let me sell them? I would never sell you patterns. I figure it can't hurt to ask. I love to crochet but I'm not the most creative to figure my own patterns out. I hope to one day though.
Hi Jean, and yes, absolutely! Here's a link to my seller policy: https://www.mooglyblog.com/about-moogly/
Thanks so much for asking!
Thanks so much! I followed the link and got all the info.
