The Riley Flower Square Motif is a fun and quick little square that you can use for any squares-based project – including the Riley Cross Body Bag! In this live demonstration, I’ll show you how to crochet this free Moogly crochet pattern!
Disclaimer: Live videos are unscripted, unedited, occasionally weird, and all opinions are my own.
The Riley Flower Square Motif was originally made with Caron Simply Soft. But you can make it in any yarn you like – just use the hook size that suits the yarn!

Can this square be made bigger please and can you recommend a joining technique to join a bunch of them together. Thanks.
Tamara Kelly
Hi Paula! Once you have worked through Round 4, you can add more rows using whatever stitch you like – the same stich along each side. 🙂
There are lots of possibilities for joining, here are some of them: https://www.mooglyblog.com/join-crochet-squares/

I love this! My niece’s name is Riley- she told me she wants a blanket for her 8th birthday this summer. I think I found what I’m going to be making!
