20+ Free Crochet and Knit Patterns for Large Dogs

Who's got a good BIG boy (or girl)? I've shared dog-themed roundups before, but one comment I often get is the need for more patterns for bigger dogs! So today I've put together a list of free crochet and knit patterns for large dogs. Each of these patterns includes a largest size that is at least 26" around the chest! But there are usually smaller sizes too, so if your dog is smaller, be sure to click your favorites too!

Get Creative With Patterns for Large Dogs

Many of these are costumes, but use a different color scheme or leave off the extra bits and you've got regular dog coats. (And Halloween is always more fun if Spot has an outfit too!) Lots of possibilities to mix and match and customize these patterns here.

Much like clothing for people, often the smaller dogs are used as models - but several sizes are available. Looking at clothing sold in stores for dogs, it seems that the largest size starts around 26" for the chest measurement. So I've used that as our criteria here - and I've included the maximum measurement and yarn used in each listing as well.
