    Monkey Finger Puppet

    Published: Apr 2, 2012 · Modified: Jun 18, 2018 by Tamara Kelly · 8 Comments

MONKEY! Who doesn't love monkeys? Now you can have your very own tiny monkey - mess not included! This little guy is a fine companion for the Lion Finger Puppet, Wild Man, Zebra, and Jungle Finger Puppets Carrying Case, but he also stands on his own. Or how about a whole handful jumping on the bed?

Finger puppets take just a tiny bit of yarn - don't stick to my color suggestions, use what you have laying around!

    • US G, 4mm hook
    • Body/Nostrils: black or other worsted weight yarn, small amount
    • Snout/Eyes/Tail: grey or other worsted weight yarn, small amount
    • Tapestry needle, scissors
    • Optional: small plastic eyes or buttons

    Body (black)
Row 1: Starting with magic circle, 5sc into the circle. Join with sl st and ch1.
Row 2: Work 2sc into each st. (10 sc) Join with sl st and ch1. Stop here for a moment and weave in the starting end while you can.
Row 3 - 9: Work even around (10sc). Join with sl st and ch1.
Row 10: Work even around. Break yarn and use seamless join to finish off, weave in end.

    Snout (grey)
Starting with magic circle, 6sc into the circle. Break yarn and use seamless join to finish off. Leave long tail to sew to body.
With a few inches of black yarn, add nostrils as embroidered dashes or french knots. Sew the snout to the body, and after sewing all the way around the snout, use the remaining grey yarn to create french knot eyes, or sew on plastic eyes/buttons. Weave in ends.

    Ears (grey) - Make 2
Ch2.In the second ch from the hook, work 3sc. Finish off and sew to head.

    Tail (grey)
Ch9. Sl st in second ch from hook and in each st to end. Sew to back of body.

How's your puppet menagerie coming? Send me your pics so I can share them here at moogly! And stay tuned for another free pattern next week!

I would like to know if its okay to sell items I make from your patterns (like the
fingerpuppets) at a church fair we are having to raise money for missions.
Please reply to my email address.
      Many Thanks.

I love your patterns. I am making a bunch of them to donate to the local children's hospital for sick children. I hope that is okay with you as they are only donated, not sold.
