I love this new technique that Kim has created with Drop Stitch Crochet! Drop stitches in knitting are such a great look, and now it's doable with a hook too! It's a bit like Broomstick Lace, with a twist. Kim demonstrated this great technique in this video:

Learn Drop Stitch Crochet also includes written instructions - and 8 fantastic crochet patterns made using this technique! Here are a few:

I haven't had a chance to make any of the full patterns yet myself, but I have taken a bit of a stab at it (pun intended), making a swatch with the 3 main stitches used! It's fun, and a lot easier than you might think!

That is a lovely stitch that resembles knitting dropped stitch and it's great for shawls.

I love Kim's designs! I would love to try this new technique. I was scheduled to take some classes from her in Huntsville, but the retreat was cancelled. I was so disappointed. If I win this, I will be able to try one of her techniques.

Funny thing. I have been researching drop-stitch knitting because I saw an easy shawl to make (stockenette every row, then do the drop stitches on the bind off row). The ladies at my crochet group were very interested. Imagine how interested they will be to find we can all crochet a drop stitch garment as well, Hope I win.

I own other books of Kim's, and this would make a lovely addition to my collection. All of her designs are beautiful, and this is one of hers that I didn't know existed!! I'm anxious to give it a try, because this looks a lot easier than doing a drop stitch in a knit stitch. I have no idea how she comes up with all of these different designs, but all I have to say is -- keep them coming, Kim!! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway, too!!
