Fair Isle Tunisian Crochet by Brenda Bourg is a fab new book featuring step-by-step instructions and 16 patterns - for cowls, boot cuffs, sweaters, blankets, a bag, and more! And I'm giving away a copy here on Moogly - but first, my review!

I've always loved the look of Fair Isle knitting, so it was exciting to see a crochet book tackle this look! And of course, Tunisian is the perfect choice. But you don't have to be a Tunisian expert to take on Fair Isle Tunisian Crochet - there are fantastic tutorials that cover everything, including the basics!
And while there are patterns for gorgeous, but undoubtedly somewhat intimidating projects, like this sweater...
and this showstopping blanket...
There are also beginner projects to get you started, like cowls and boot cuffs! And the patterns are super easy to read, as the stitch patterns for the "fair isle" patterns are charted. But not crazy symbol charts, simple color charts even a beginner can follow.
Like me! I've done a bit of Tunisian Crochet before, even designing a few simple patterns, but I'd never tackled this fair isle style before. So I tried my hand at one repeat of the boot cuffs shown above. You can see the result below! I made an error or two, but I'm pretty darn pleased for a first attempt at this technique!
Brenda is a talented designer, with an impressive resume - coeditor of Annie's Talking Crochet Newsletter, she has designed for Crochet!, Crochet World, a variety of yarn companies, and blogs as well! I look forward to sitting down with Fair Isle Tunisian Crochet and learning a lot more in the future - it's a fantastic book, and has earned a permanent place on my crochet bookshelf! It has my recommendation for sure!

Looks like a great book! Fwiw, I love crocheting by symbol. I find it so much easier to grok what the designer intended than reading a block of text.

I want to learn how to do this, so excited!

Hiya! The Tunisian crochet book looks great! I'm a left handed crocheter and wondered if there are any adjustments that need to be made to the patterns?
Many thanks x

I think they would be fine, it's just the garments (like sweaters) where you might have to "flip" the right and left fronts. 🙂

You refer to a yoke pattern in your overview of the Eloise sweater being on your website. I've looked every where but can't find it.

I'm not sure where you saw that, this is the closest thing I've got: click here
