    Edinburgh Evenings Scarf

The Edinburgh Evenings Scarf is a unique and lacy scarf that I designed for our trip to Scotland! Made with gorgeous Katia Yarns, this linked mesh stitch turns your skeins into a stunning wrap that’s mesmerizing to crochet. Make your own stunning scarf with the crochet pattern below!

First Made in Katia Cotton-Merino Fine

When I reached out to Katia to create a pattern for our Craftours trip to Scotland, we landed on a gorgeous new yarn - Illusion Merino! Check out all these happy crocheters and knitters with their lovely yarn and scarves! ♥

Illusion Merino is a limited run yarn that has been taking off in Europe, so I didn't get a skein to play with ahead of time! Luckily, Illusion Merino is essentially a self-striping version of Katia Concepts Cotton-Merino Fine - and they sent several gorgeous skeins to create this scarf with!

This yarn is a dream to crochet with, and whichever one you use, I think you'll love the result. For the solids version, I used 6 total skeins. Should you be able to get your hands on self-striping Illusion Merino, it's a one-skein pattern! And of course that's the joy of a scarf - you can really use any yarn of your choice!

    Inspired by a Knit Mesh

This trip to Scotland was a little unique - this time we had a mix of knitters and crocheters! So I wanted to make sure that everyone got to enjoy the trip with a similar project - still using our featured yarn from Katia. So I went searching and found this gorgeous free Women's Knit Scarf Pattern! It looked like a great pattern to try out our featured yarn with, featuring a memorable repeat that's perfect for knitting on the road. So I set out to get a similar look in crochet.

I quickly came up with several different stitch patterns - and loved them all. Luckily, that weekend I was at the Crochet Guild of America Chain Space Retreat, so I was able to do a quick poll of some of the attendees - and the linked mesh won! And now, thanks to our trip to Scotland, it's been thoroughly tested (thank you again to all the ladies on that trip)!

    Edinburgh Evenings Scarf

I haven't spotted this stitch pattern in any dictionary before, but of course, great minds think alike - so did I invent it? Maybe, maybe not. But I'm super excited by it - and I hope you enjoy trying it out yourself!

Hi Maria! This isn't a selling site, I am a crochet designer and this is where I share my free patterns, giveaways, videos, etc. However, you are welcome to sell finished scarves made with the Edinburgh Evenings Scarf pattern, or any pattern on Moogly! 🙂

Hello Asima! Written out, it would be "skip the chain one space" - meaning skip the ch 1 and go to the next stitch. 🙂
