Susan Bates Twist + Lock with Bag Giveaway

When Susan Bates Twist + Lock Deluxe Hooks first debuted, I fell in love! The large, ergonomic handle and the space saved in my notions bag are still appreciated every time I crochet. But there was one thing missing - a custom bag to keep them all in, neat and organized. Now, Yarnspirations has fixed that, with the new Susan Bates Twist + Lock Deluxe Hook Set with Bag - and I'm giving away a set right here on Moogly!

Easy to Carry, Easy to Use, Easy to Fall In Love With!

I've very much enjoyed using my Susan Bates Twist + Lock hooks for the past couple of years - you can see them featured in most of my patterns! I love having a wide range of hook sizes to hand, without having to stuff my notions bag full. And the cutter has been so handy for on the go - especially when going where scissors get the side eye.

And while the large handle took a little getting used to, I find that it really helps avoid hand fatigue. When I have to use a different hook (due to size), I can really tell the difference! It works well for both knife and pencil holds, and feels great to use!

I always use either 5 or 5.5 mm hook for worsted weight yarns if I am just doing some practice or just learn some new stitches. But if I am working a pattern I use that use worsted weight I use what size the designer list in the pattern and adjust accordingly.

I usually use a J 6.0 hook unless I need to use something else for the correct gauge.
I absolutely love these hooks. I was at a thrift store right before I purchased my first set and found a mini backpack that has a small front pocket just perfect for the hooks and the main pocket is great to hold the large handles and other notions like a measuring tape and my regular Susan Bates hooks. I can just throw it in any bag I am using and I am good to go.

I generally prefer a size K hook when using worsted weight yarn, especially if I'm making a blanket where lots of drape is a positive quality. Otherwise, I hover around H & I hooks. I have to say that Susan Bates is my favorite hook style, by far, so I would love to try this set out!

I usually use a 5 or 6 mm hook with worsted weight yarn (4). The handles would make crocheting blankets so much more comfortable, currently working on a star blanket with a non ergonomic grip hook and can only do a few rows at a time before needing a break.

Hi, I would absolutely love to win these hooks! I have arthritis in my hands and because a lot of the hooks I have are little handled after awhile my hands are stowed up and hurting. I love to use hook size 3.75 mm and 6.0 mm those are my go to choices for sure. Mainly because a lot of patterns I have usually call for those two sizes but also because those are the only two sizes for the longest that I had the bigger soft handled ones for and they help my hands a little more verses the small handled ones. I absolutely love moogly and just want to say good luck to everyone!!

It would be cool to win the hook set and try them. My favorite hook size is either 6mm or 5.5mm. Easiest for me to crochet quickly. 😊

I think my favorite, and most used hook size is a 5mm. I make a lot of blankets and this hook size makes the work fast and easy.

Been using 5mm lately as I have very tight tension problems and have heard that inline hooks would help me with that as well.

I usually use a 4mm with worsted weight, sometimes a 5mm depending on the exact fiber and the project.

I've got wrist issues and wrist fatigue is always a real struggle for me in projects, so I'd love the chance to try out these hooks and see if they help!

I absolutely love these hooks. Until these came out, it was impossible to find in-line style hooks with ergonomic handles. I really find tapered hooks to be unusable. That the set was also interchangeable and included a couple of yarn cutters was great. I've always tried to buy Susan Bates hooks, because they're the best. I'd love to win this set!

Appreciate the opportunity as I’m very interested in trying these hooks because I’ve found the fatter handles to be much more comfortable. I like to use a 5.5 and 6mm hook with worsted weight.

My favorite hook to use is the 5mm for worsted weight. I just got an interchangeable Hearth and Harbor hook for Christmas which I love (it also has a Row and Stitch couter on the handle!) ! But I would love to try this one because the handle looks a bit larger and could help with my tendinitis.

I start with whatever size the pattern calls for and adjust as necessary for gauge. Generally it's H or I but sometimes it's G, J, or K.

It truly depends on the pattern. For amigurumi, I use an F with worsted yarn. For most other things either an I or J (I tend to crochet tightly), but sometimes an H.

I do mostly amigurumi, so I tend to use a hook somewhere between 3.25-4mm, whichever is giving me the nicest looking fabric.
