If you crochet, you likely see some sort of benefit from your time with the hook! For many it’s relaxation, for others it’s mental stimulation – and when it’s really good, it’s a combo of the two! You might crochet to make money, or to keep your hands limber despite medical issues. Whatever the reasons – this survery is for you!

Crochet has helped me immensely – beyond giving me the foundation for Moogly! It’s helped me mentally so much – particularly after leaving the workforce to become a stay at home mom. And now it’s what I think about and do most of the day!
You may have heard of the book Crochet Saved My Life, by Kathryn Vercillo. It’s full of personal stories, inspiration, and information on the mental and physical benefits of crochet. It’s got a permanent place in my crochet library for sure!
Now Kathryn is asking for YOUR help! She’s running a Crochet Health Survey, to see how crochet helps people. From the description: ” This is a 27-question survey (mostly multiple choice) designed to gather detailed information about the physical and mental health issues that are helped through crochet work and to what degree the craft is helpful.”
While studies have been done on the benefits of crafts in the past, this is the first to focus exclusively on crochet. It will help get crochet out into the world as a viable therapy method – in hospitals, prisons, and schools – and will help doctors and therapists as well as crocheters!
So it’s important to get the word out there! I took the survey – it’s quick and easy! And now I’m doing my part as a crochet blogger to help spread the word – taking this survey is important, fast, free, and will help the craft of crochet, as well as those who can benefit from it. Please click the link below to go to the survey page:
Thank you so much! After you’ve taken the survey, share this post or the survey URL to keep it going! Promoting crochet is something we can all do – and maybe save a life in the process.
