Crochet for Cancer Crochet-a-Long Followup and Winners!

Published: May 26, 2014 by Tamara Kelly · 7 Comments

As you might recall, Moogly and 9 other fab bloggers co-hosted a Crochet for Cancer Charity Hat Drive, under the amazing organizational leadership of Sara from My Merry Messy Life! The hats were to be sent to Hooks of Hope, a group of dedicated, generous women who crochet hats for those suffering from cancer and chemotherapy.

Join the Crochet for Cancer Crochet-a-Long: Make hats, do good, and maybe win a prize! :D

We waited for a couple weeks to make sure all the entries were in - even the international ones! - and at long last the lovely ladies at Hooks of Hope put all the names of the all the generous crocheters in a hat and pulled out 5 names. The grand prize is a $125 prize package from Red Heart Yarn! The rest will win plarn bags, handcrocheted by the ladies of Hooks of Hope (!) and those bags will be filled with yarn!

    Winners

    1. First Place - Donna Carragher from Howell, NJ
    2. Second - Ms. Kehm from Somerdale, NJ
    3. Third - Lisa Babcock from Red Lion, PA
    4. Forth- Shirley Anderson from Hephzibah, GA
    5. Fifth - Alison Schietz from Milford, OH
WINNERS - Please click here to contact Sara to be able to claim your prize. She'll need your full mailing address.

Thank You All SO Much! Over 450 items were sent in!

Your generosity and giving was so impressive, and such a joy to see. Thank you thank you thank you! You've made this charity drive a massive success. Not only were there hats, but you gave ponchos, a baby sweater, boot toppers, scarves, lap throws and lovey blankets. The goodies include dinosaur hats, hats with faces, braids, characters, and more. And some went way beyond, donating far more than 4 - one lady gave 21 hats! Wow! Hooks of Hope was overwhelmed by your participation and are sending each and every one of you a thank you card. They said it was like Christmas morning opening all the packages!

Check out the amazing gifts you all worked so hard on! Can you spot your hard work?

You've made us all so proud! Thank you all so much! Once again, crocheters show their stripes - as the most generous group I know!

Hi Lynn! I'm not sure which one you might have seen, but I do have a link to a hair scrunchie made that way here: https://www.mooglyblog.com/crochet-hair-accessories-12-free-patterns/ The colors of course are up to you! 🙂
