Caron Colorama Halo Giveaway on Moogly

I fell in love with Caron Colorama Halo when it first debuted in the O'Go format. Now, Yarnspirations is re-introducing this unique color-changing yarn in cakes! And they're highlighting one of its most intriguing qualities - Perfect Phasing. Take another look at this gorgeous bulky-weight yarn, and enter to win 3 cakes of Caron Colorama Halo on Moogly!

Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by Yarnspirations and may include affiliate links; all opinions are my own.

Caron Colorama Halo side view 2

"Caron® Colorama Halo™ is a bulky weight acrylic striping yarn that creates approachable fashion for any skill level with a soft and luxuriously textured yarn, now with Perfect Phasing a seamless color transition, you will love stitching up cozy shawls, sweaters, and accessories worry-free as the texture can help disguise any stitching mistakes. "

Gradients and Ombres - All With Perfect Phasing

Yarnspirations has brought back many of the beautiful colors of this yarn from before, and added some gorgeous and exciting new ones! I love the ombres they had before - as well as the new ones - but these gradients are stunning! So many beautiful pattern possibilities!

    Caron Colorama Halo Colorways

So what is this Perfect Phasing thing? It's the way the colors change from one to the other within the skein. Most multi-colored yarns feature a hard color break where you go from one to the other - even when it's a lighter shade to a darker shade. But with Perfect Phasing, you'd be hard-pressed to figure out where exactly the color changes - because it changes smoothly and continuously throughout! And every cake of Caron Colorama Halo is the same, starting and ending at the same spot in the colorway - letting you plan your Perfect Project!

Speaking of which... While the put-up may have changed, the patterns remain - and there are some new ones featuring the new cake colors too! As of this writing, there are 16 free crochet and knit patterns featuring Caron Colorama Halo on their site - 8 knit, and 8 crochet!

    Caron Colorama Halo Patterns

While I haven't had a chance to use the cake version, I do love using Caron Colorama Halo. I took advantage of the beautiful ombre of the Beeswax Frost colorway to make the Golden Halo Mobius - a free crochet pattern on Moogly!

No matter what I initially intend to make, I pretty much always wind up making shawls -- so I'll just say a shawl, as it likely would be.

I'm very excited about this yarn! There are so few true ombres out there and this is the first I've heard of that starts and stops in the same place.

I love the idea of making a babyghan with it, starting with the darker end and then switching to a second cake going in the opposite direction, so it's dark on both ends.

I have some skeins of this in the beeswax frost colorway too. It's in the o go Version that I recently bought on clearance at Joanne's. I was thinking of making a scarf as well... now that i see you have the golden halo mobius... I'm thinking about it but I was also thinking about making a nice sweater. It looks and feels so cozy. Thanks for the giveaway!

Fabulous, thank you! I have three skeins and hope to find something elegant but that uses enough of the yarn to use the full spectrum of the gradual colour change.

Do you think it will work for this pattern? (Presumably using only 1 skein). https://pin.it/3CgxxHZeu

I've actually not had the chance to really play with a lot of yarn in variegated colors. I was given a couple skeins I made washcloths out of for a neighbor who gave up knitting. I never kept what I made. It was something she wanted made for her kitchen but it turned out after I made them and did all that work. She complained that she hated the feeling of yarn. So while it was good practice it made me feel bad... It was pretty too. Would have looked cool in an Americana pattern. If I win something like this I would like to make a throw or blanket or something. My favorite colors tend to be whites, blues, or whites, greens, and pinks. Currently I'm finishing an twin sized Minecraft Creeper afghan for my son. I'm excited to see how it turns out. Good luck to everyone. Good luck with the giveaway. I always look forward to reading your emails. ♥️

I will probably make a shawl for our church. We have a lot of elderly and we have high ceilings with ceiling fans. The older folks don't much like the breeze the fans create even in the summer with the AC on so I will work at replenishing the shawls we've given away.

In my preschool classroom we collect tzedakah each Friday to celebrate Shabbat. Our class chosen charity this year is Baby Bundles given through local maternity and midwifery clinics to new mothers in need. Each bundle contains infant toiletries, diapers, clothing and homemade blankets, sweaters, hats etc. I think this yarn would make beautiful soft baby items.

I finally decided I wanted to use this yarn I’ve had for a while in the o’go format. I found a basic double crochet blanket that was to be baby sized but is actually a perfect lap blanket. So I’d love to try one of the new multi-colored cakes to make a bigger blanket or wrap for my office since I’m always cold (all year).

I've been crocheting for almost 49 years, and have a sweater pattern I've saved for years and I think the color changing yarn would work beautifully

Love the soft colors on some of these. Not sure if I'll try a cardigan or a scarf. Or go through all my existing patterns and pick something. (see you in a few years)

I would love to make a lap blanker with this yarn. Excited that every cake of Caron Colorama Halo is the same, starting and ending at the same spot in the colorway--will make for beautiful gradient effect.

Oh my goodness! this yarn is absolutely gorgeous! I have always wanted to try to make a beautiful ombre scarf for my mom but I have never found a yarn that is soft enough for her or has ombre colors that I think she would like. I would absolutely love to try this yarn! Although I wish good luck to everyone, I honestly hope I want because I can't afford yarn right now

I love this yarn, looks so soft and warm, I would make my Great Grandchildren a cuddle blanket to keep them snug and they will know it was made with love.

Omgoodness this yarn is so beautiful. I really love the lavender frost and the orchid frost. I would love to make a really big shawl for my best friend who is having some health problems right now and I know she would just love this. I remember the OGO format and although I really loved the yarn, I just do not like the OGO format. Too much packaging and so much wasted space in my yarn stash. I am so happy Caron has made cakes of this yarn...I'm all in!

I’ve been thinking about neck warmers for Christmas. This seems like it would be great for that.

Oh wow, so many gorgeous colors!! I think I would love to make a hoodie or hooded cape for myself!! Maybe a stuffie of some kind to donate to the local bookstore for a raffle!! They raffle things off to benefit a local cat shelter and I love to donate things to help them out!! Some of the stuffies I have donated have been a big hit, and I bet an extra floofy one would be a huge hit!! Have an awesome day and thanks for the chance!!
