Gradients and Ombres - All With Perfect Phasing
Yarnspirations has brought back many of the beautiful colors of this yarn from before, and added some gorgeous and exciting new ones! I love the ombres they had before - as well as the new ones - but these gradients are stunning! So many beautiful pattern possibilities!
So what is this Perfect Phasing thing? It's the way the colors change from one to the other within the skein. Most multi-colored yarns feature a hard color break where you go from one to the other - even when it's a lighter shade to a darker shade. But with Perfect Phasing, you'd be hard-pressed to figure out where exactly the color changes - because it changes smoothly and continuously throughout! And every cake of Caron Colorama Halo is the same, starting and ending at the same spot in the colorway - letting you plan your Perfect Project!
16 Free Crochet and Knit Patterns for Caron Colorama Halo
Speaking of which... While the put-up may have changed, the patterns remain - and there are some new ones featuring the new cake colors too! As of this writing, there are 16 free crochet and knit patterns featuring Caron Colorama Halo on their site - 8 knit, and 8 crochet!
While I haven't had a chance to use the cake version, I do love using Caron Colorama Halo. I took advantage of the beautiful ombre of the Beeswax Frost colorway to make the Golden Halo Mobius - a free crochet pattern on Moogly!

No matter what I initially intend to make, I pretty much always wind up making shawls -- so I'll just say a shawl, as it likely would be.
Sharleen Hill
I'd love to make a blanket with this. It would be so soft and cozy!
Victoria Kimball
I'm very excited about this yarn! There are so few true ombres out there and this is the first I've heard of that starts and stops in the same place.
I love the idea of making a babyghan with it, starting with the darker end and then switching to a second cake going in the opposite direction, so it's dark on both ends.
Patti Worman
Would love a chance to try some yarn I havent had a chance to use yet. Its wonderful what you do for your followers! Thank you!! 🙂

I have some skeins of this in the beeswax frost colorway too. It's in the o go Version that I recently bought on clearance at Joanne's. I was thinking of making a scarf as well... now that i see you have the golden halo mobius... I'm thinking about it but I was also thinking about making a nice sweater. It looks and feels so cozy. Thanks for the giveaway!

Cecily - Shy Blog Lurker
I've actually not had the chance to really play with a lot of yarn in variegated colors. I was given a couple skeins I made washcloths out of for a neighbor who gave up knitting. I never kept what I made. It was something she wanted made for her kitchen but it turned out after I made them and did all that work. She complained that she hated the feeling of yarn. So while it was good practice it made me feel bad... It was pretty too. Would have looked cool in an Americana pattern. If I win something like this I would like to make a throw or blanket or something. My favorite colors tend to be whites, blues, or whites, greens, and pinks. Currently I'm finishing an twin sized Minecraft Creeper afghan for my son. I'm excited to see how it turns out. Good luck to everyone. Good luck with the giveaway. I always look forward to reading your emails. ♥️
Rebecca

I will probably make a shawl for our church. We have a lot of elderly and we have high ceilings with ceiling fans. The older folks don't much like the breeze the fans create even in the summer with the AC on so I will work at replenishing the shawls we've given away.
Kaelyne Jane Reed
I recently came across Colorama, used it for a triangle scarf, and now I am hooked! The smooth color change, soft feel and slight halo is the best. Hope to receive these! They are beautiful and so fun to use!

I finally decided I wanted to use this yarn I’ve had for a while in the o’go format. I found a basic double crochet blanket that was to be baby sized but is actually a perfect lap blanket. So I’d love to try one of the new multi-colored cakes to make a bigger blanket or wrap for my office since I’m always cold (all year).
Sharon
This yarn looks lovely! I've never tried it before. I certainly do love all of your projects!

Omgoodness this yarn is so beautiful. I really love the lavender frost and the orchid frost. I would love to make a really big shawl for my best friend who is having some health problems right now and I know she would just love this. I remember the OGO format and although I really loved the yarn, I just do not like the OGO format. Too much packaging and so much wasted space in my yarn stash. I am so happy Caron has made cakes of this yarn...I'm all in!
Carmen
That would make a beautiful shawl for a friend.

Some of the stuffies I have donated have been a big hit, and I bet an extra floofy one would be a huge hit!! Have an awesome day and thanks for the chance!!
