Blooming Crochet Hats: Review & Giveaway!

Published: Jun 19, 2014 by Tamara Kelly · 220 Comments

CONGRATULATIONS to our winners: Nick Nikki Baker and De'Anna Groves! Thank you to all who entered, and thank you to FW Media for sponsoring this giveaway! To purchase your own copy, look for the Amazon Links below!

    ******

Recently I received a fab new crochet pattern book to review - Blooming Crochet Hats: 10 Crochet Designs with 10 Mix-and-Match Accents, by Shauna-Lee Graham. Here's my review - and a chance to win your own copy!

Blooming Crochet Hats - Review and Giveaway on Mooglyblog.com!

Blooming Crochet Hats has a great concept! Take several fun hat and headband patterns, offer several ways to customize the look with different earflaps and brims, and then include patterns for a whole bunch of different add-ons. There are flowers, bunnies, hearts and more!

And you're not stuck with just one add-on! These are designed to be interchangeable. Sew a button (or more) to your hat, and you can switch out the add-ons every day if you like.

The hat patterns come in all different sizes, and I chose to make the Twisted Beanie, with the Newsboy Brim and the Triple-Tier Clusters flower add-on. It came out super cute, as you can see from the photo!

I love the unique stitch pattern to this one! The only thing I would change if I were to make it again would be to add a couple more rows for height before adding the brim. It might have been my gauge, or it might have been my big noggin, but like any hat you should try it on as you go if you can.

And now you can win your own copy of Blooming Crochet Hats! The publisher is giving away TWO copies of this fun new book for Moogly readers! Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway ends June 23rd at 11:45pm, and is open to residents of the US and Canada (per publisher restrictions).

I would make lots of them in lots of sizes and share them with friends, family and charity. They would bring a smile to many faces!

I would make the adult size for myself and then newborn sizes to donate to the local NICU.
