The Crochet for Warmth Horizon Hat is a fun and quick free crochet beanie pattern that I designed for Red Heart Heat Wave yarn - and now it has right and left-handed video tutorials to help you make your own!

I really enjoyed crocheting with Red Heart Heat Wave - it makes this beanie extra cozy, because the yarn itself heats up with UV light! I whipped up this pattern in an evening, so you can too.

And there are two sizes, so it should fit anywhere from age 12 or so on up! If you would like to make a custom size, you can simply make the brim to fit your head, and then follow the pattern from there - you might have to change the number of decreases in the crown, but it's a pretty basic pattern and I'm here to help if you need it!

PLEASE NOTE: In the written pattern on Yarnspirations, they refer to the hdc in the 3rd loop as working in the front horizontal bar. You want to work into the bar at the back of the stitch, as shown in this video.

I downloaded this pattern from Yarnspirations, but it is written incorrectly with at least one incorrect illustration, so the hat will come out looking nothing like yours. I knew as soon as I started R6. Please go check and see what you think. Here's the text: "Working in horizontal bar only, created by hdc at front of work, 1 hdc in each
st around." with an unhelpful illustration. It says nothing about the 3rd loop. Just a heads-up. Such a pretty beanie 🙂
