US-Q, 16.0 mm hook, Susan Bates
US-L, 8.0 mm crochet hook, Susan Bates
135 yds Bernat Plush Big Yarn (#7 Jumbo)
Color A: Off White - 3 skeins for the set (just under 2 used for the large basket, just over 1 used for the small basket)
30 yds Bernat Plush Yarn (#5 Bulky)
Color B: Mustard - much less than 1 skein

2) I'm unable to find the Bernat Plush Big yarn - I believe it is being discontinued. Can you recommend a substitution?

It's definitely not being discontinued at this time, but it can be hard to spot sometimes! Your best bet is online, but it's also sold at Michaels stores. You could try holding 3 or 4 strands of the Bernat Plush together instead! 🙂

I love your site, and have made several of your designs! This Bernat plush big must be the craze, as it is hard to find the colors that I want from Michaels [free shipping if you enough to make 4 big baskets, and incidentally, they don’t carry the Bernat plush 🙁 ]. I ordered 4 different variegated colors and plan to find the other yarn at JoAnns. Now that I’ve watched the video, I am wondering if the unique stitch will be as apparent, using a variegated yarn. Your thoughts?

The variegated yarns are really entertaining the way they play with the colors and the pattern; I used a solid dark color for the bottom, and 2 skeins for the basket itself so it is taller (had a small amount leftover). I put handle covers on the solid baskets, the variegated ones look great without them. What a fun pattern! Thanks Tamara!!
