    Sisterly Felicity!

    Published: Sep 27, 2011 · Modified: Jun 15, 2018 by Tamara Kelly · 3 Comments

This past weekend, between fighting a chest cold, going to a soccer game, and the usual million boring but somehow necessary things that fill our days... I found time to make this!

It's a Felicity hat, and it's for my youngest sister. She's quite the seamstress, and she's altering some of my pants for me, so I had to thank her somehow! The real star of this slouchy hat is the back though. Let's take a look:

So slouchy! So red! These pics were taken pre-blocking, as I had to grab the light while it lasted. The original pattern runs a bit small for big-headed folk, so I did do a couple easy changes. For needle sizes I bumped up to 8s and 9s, and I cast on 80, ending the increases with knit 13, make 1 (140 sts). It'll make sense once you download this great FREE pattern. I used I Love This Cotton, which is one of the softest cottons available locally. I keep petting it as it blocks on the counter - it's too luscious to resist!

Looking for a hat of your own but don't want to make it yourself? Contact me on Facebook and we'll get you all set for Fall!

Hi Madcap! This hat depends heavily on the properties of the knit stockinette stitch to create the rolled brim. The closest thing in crochet would be a plain hat of sc or dc sts.
