The Autumn Sunset Infinity Scarf and the Winter Sunrise Scarf use two types of cluster stitches – half and full. These are unique stitches, though pretty representative of the “cluster type” of crochet stitches. Though there is a good written description of these stitches in the pattern, I thought a quick video demonstration might just be in order!

Half and Full Cluster Stitches

This is how these two stitches are written out in the pattern:

HCL– Half Cluster = [Yo, insert hook in st, yo, pull up loop loosely] twice (5 loops on hook). Yo, pull through 4 loops, yo, pull through last 2 loops.

FCL – Full Cluster = [Yo, insert hook in st, yo, pull up loop loosely] twice (5 loops on hook). In next st indicated [yo, insert hook in st, yo, pull up loosely] twice (9 loops on hook). Yo, pull through 8 loops, yo, pull through last 2 loops.
