Does it feel like Fall where you are? Here in Iowa USA it’s 47ºF this morning, and the kids wore jackets to school. I’m thinking about apple cider, warm cake, and hats and mittens!
With three kids and cold winters, it seems like we always have both too many hats and not enough. What we needed most last year though, was a hat that would work with my daughter’s hairstyle! With long hair she wears her hair up to school nearly every day, but stocking caps and ponytails don’t mix. So I went to Ravelry (of course) and found the Hannah pattern, a great free pattern by Blake Ehrlich! Here’s my interpretation, modeled by my favorite daughter (ok, so the other two are boys, she’s still a good kid).
So fun, and so practical! And now that I have an idea of how it’s done, I’m thinking about adding the ponytail treatment to all kinds of hats! I don’t usually wear ponytails myself, but I might for a new hat!
