Our forest friends are more popular than ever! There are dozens of owl patterns out there, but I’ve noticed a slowly growing trend toward the crochet fox. Sleek, agile, and sly, these comely creatures are working their way into the world of crochet. So here are 7 fantastic free patterns, and 3 hot patterns that are available for purchase – and they look like they’re worth it!

It’s been months in the making, but at long last the pattern has been written, tested by wonderful crocheters, and the Sven Sweater is ready for sale!
It’s been an exciting journey – one that began when I had my own little boys and realized just how many crochet baby sweaters were only for girls. This sweater is definitely for boys. And for girls! It’s all in the colors. The pattern was inspired by a blanket I saw at a Swedish furnishings store over the summer – it was bold and graphic and had a great look. One that begged to be translated to crochet!
Figuring out how to put it all together was a learning process for me, and inspired me to make the Tapestry Crochet Video, to explain one of the techniques used in the sweater. It’s this technique that has led me to label it as Intermediate difficulty, but I do think that a determined beginner could do a great job with it as well.
Because it is unique, detailed, and well tested, I’ve decided to make this my first paid pattern, for just $3.99. I hope you’ll agree that it’s worth it. It’s sized 0 – 6 months, and is the perfect crochet pattern to make for any baby boy or girl. The Sven Sweater pattern is in PDF format, and available on Craftsy and as a Ravelry download.
Thanks so much for all your support and excitement about my past patterns – and don’t worry, the free patterns will continue! But I hope to add more special, paid patterns in the future too. And I want to give a special thanks to all my testers, as well as those who volunteered – I couldn’t have done it without you!
