Part of the CAL Central Holiday Stashdown Crochet Along
The Holiday Stashdown Crochet Along is the fifth and final crochet along of 2020 hosted in the CAL Central Facebook and Ravelry groups. It’s also their sixth annual Holiday Stashdown CAL! So when they asked me to contribute a pattern, I jumped on board. There are a bunch of designs, prizes, and more!
How the 2020 Holiday Stashdown CAL Works
Every Monday and Thursday from September 21 through December 17, 2020, there is a free crochet pattern by a different designer. Each pattern will be a one-skein project, or a stash buster/scrappy project, so you can work from your own existing yarn stash to make a great winter holiday gift, decoration, or wrap.
Thirteen wonderful companies - Babé Crochet, Bags by Awesome Grannie, Clover USA, GlassEyesOnLine, I Like Crochet, JitterBeanMugs, Knitter’s Pride, Kraemer Yarns, Nelsonwood, Search Press North America, Unicorn, Walnut Farm Designs, and WeCrochet - have contributed amazing prizes for the end-of-CAL giveaway. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway in this post on Underground Crafter by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020!

A Leaf For All Seasons
The Leaf Wiggle Trivet is a great stashbuster - and you can change it for every season, as you work through your yarn stash! From warm autumn reds and yellows to snowy winter whites to bright spring greens - this pattern is a fun way to decorate for the season!
One note though - if you do intend to use the Leaf Wiggles Trivet under hot dishes, be sure to use 100% cotton or wool yarns - acrylic may melt!

NOTES:
This pattern is made in two sections. First, we make a mesh leaf shape. Then, we crochet the "wiggles" into that mesh. Mix up the colors of the mesh and wiggles for different looks!
Ch 4 in the mesh counts as a dc and ch 1.
Ch 3 in the mesh counts as a dc.
When making the Wiggles, work ONLY around the mesh dc sts. Do not work into the ch-1 sps or into the edging. The first dc of each mesh round is the ch 3, or first 3 chs of the ch 4.
