A Special Collaboration - for Shawl Lovers!
For this pattern, I partnered with my good friend Marly Bird! Her Chic Sheep by Marly Bird yarn is one of my favorite wool yarns, and I do so love working with her on all sorts of projects!
For this collaboration, Marly and I decided we'd each design a shawl. Her pattern is knit, and mine is crocheted, and they both use Chic Sheep by Marly Bird!
From there, we each followed our own path! And check out Marly's creation, isn't it gorgeous?! ♥ Click here for the Mariposa Chic Knit Shawl!
My Crochet Shallow Shawl
For my version, I designed the Chic Halftime Shawl! I had a whole bunch of partial balls of Chic Sheep by Marly Bird, and I wanted to create a pattern that works up fast.
The weather turned cold all of a sudden this year, and with busy schedules and the holidays just around the corner, the Chic Halftime Shawl is the perfect project! Now you can do some stash busting, create something warm, and even whip up some gorgeous crochet gifts - fast fast fast! (Some might say in "half the time"... heh.)
Make the Chic Halftime Shawl your own!
I don't know if I've ever met a crocheter that didn't like to improvise and customize the projects they make - and the Chic Halftime Shawl is ready for you!
Use up those partial balls of Chic Sheep you love, create your own color combos, add rows to make it longer - the possibilities are endless!

I love how you used the two different colors together throughout the pattern for a tweedy-look. I have wished for a tweed in Chic Sheep and have asked if one would ever come along with never a reply.. Love this look. Thanks again for a great pattern, Tamara.

Thank you so much, Pamela! ♥

Hi, Tamara! I love this pattern and plan to use it to make a gift for my bestie. Most of my stash is bulky yarn. Would this pattern work with just a single strand of a 5 or 6 gauge yarn?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Shelly! Thank you so much! ♥ Yes, you can use really any weight you like - just try a couple hooks to get the fabric you like with it! Then increase til you have half the length you want, and decrease to the end! 🙂
